Differentiated Instruction or Universal Designs for Learning or Culturally Responsive Instruction - OH MY!

I am wondering what kind(s) of professional learning is happening around these topics. What have you learned about them? What burning questions remain? What resources for these topics are you finding and using? I can't wait to hear more!

Thanks for the response! I look forward to continuing the encouragement of UDL among teachers; the UDL professional learning module is a great place to start learning more about it! http://www.niusileadscape.org/pd/universal_designs_for_learning
By the way, the best place to find this module is on the NIUSI LeadScape website. But, it is more difficult to find in the learning carousel because UDL as a search term isn't found. The learning carousel at www.equityallianceatasu.org is a fabulous wealth of great resources though!

I've had questions from a few teachers and administrators about Universal Designs for Learning. Specifically, they've asked how it works.
I've seen teachers use the principles of UDL in my experiences as a school principal and district level director. Teachers from Pre-K to graduate school have been successful in their approaches to meet the needs of the diverse learners within their classes.
Universal Design for Learning supports teachers’ efforts by providing flexible instructional materials, techniques, and strategies that help teachers differentiate instruction to meet these varied needs. It does this by providing options for:
* Presenting information and content in different ways (the "what" of learning)
* Differentiating the ways that students can express what they know (the "how" of learning)
* Stimulating interest and motivation for learning (the "why" of learning)
